auto makers like chrysler, ford, gm, will report october sales later today. sales are forecast to rise 11% from a year ago, which would make it the best october for the industry since 2007. analysts say monday's superstorm on the east coast likely led to the loss of about 100,000 vehicles. dealers should be able to make that up this month. and sandy may have been very bad news for homeowners, but it's bringing some good news to the residential construction sector.
